Applications

Unmanned Vehicles

Autonomous vehicles are found now in applications in almost every industry sector. Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV's), or drones are used today for military, law enforcement border patrol, agriculture and more. Unmanned ground vehicles (UGV's) are finding a place in military applications such as field transport support, weapon disposal or remote reconnaissance and weaponry. Unmanned marine vehicles (UMV's) are being developed for military, exploration, search and rescue.

These new, sophisticated unmanned vehicles must be able to operate in harsh environments, connect multiple communications and motion control devices and, most importantly, operate flawlessly.

The Techaya MILTECH line of military-grade compact and ultra-compact Ethernet switches are purpose-built for these rugged and mission-critical applications and environments. From unmanaged Fast Ethernet to fully managed Gigabit Ethernet switches, our solutions are reliable, sophisticated and flexible enough for even the most unique unmanned application.

MODERN SOLDIER

The modern warfare in the twenty-first century is becoming a ground for extensive digital data exchange. The modern soldier is now a source of battlefield intelligence, fully equipped with advanced weapons and communication systems.

Techaya introduces a range of rugged superior lightweight Integrated Soldier Power and Data Systems (ISPDS) for the "Next-Gen" soldier in the tactical battlefield:
MILETCH 406 - Portable Communication Grid.
MILETCH 303 - USB3.1 Smart HUB.
MILTECH 402 – PoE Ethernet Switch with Power Distribution (PDU).
MILTECH 404 - Integrated Soldier Power and Data Management System with integrated SOM open for customer application.
MILTECH 410 - Integrated Soldier Power and Data Management System with USB3.0 and 1G LAN capabilities. All products meet military standards such as: MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-1275, IP68.

Airborne

Ethernet networks are becoming a standard in both fixed and rotary winged air vehicles including commercial aircrafts, jetfighters, helicopters and unmanned air vehicles.

Key applications driving Ethernet include a demand for real-time data, flight management systems (FMS's), flight control systems (FCS's) and an increased concern for flight safety, operational and maintenance costs. New aircraft platforms are being designed around an Ethernet communications backbone and old platforms are being upgraded to replace tradition bus communication architectures and upgraded from heavier copper to lighter weight fiber.

Our media converters with switching capabilities help support the transition from low speed 10 megabits per second (Mbps) copper to fiber backbones with connections speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps). Our military-grade, compact and ultra-compact Ethernet switches are purpose-built for these rugged, space and weight-constrained environments where reliability is paramount to survivability and every inch of space and every ounce of weight is critical to the platform.

Ground Vehicles

Next-generation military vehicles include jeeps, tactical vehicles, armored vehicles and tanks. Most of these vehicles must have C5I solutions that include: electronic monitoring of diagnostic equipment and system failures, the ability to link into current and future tactical data networks that support surveillance cameras, rear cameras, acoustic gunfire detection, remote control weapons, vehicle monitors, GPS receivers, vision enhancements, and tracking devices.

In this sense, Ethernet becomes a key technology of the on-board network that not only enhances the survivability of soldiers but also enhances the survivability of these vehicles and assist in more intelligent combat, command, and reconnaissance missions.

Techaya’s MILTECH product line offers a series of Ethernet switches and routers for varying ground vehicles with a wide range of connectivity, size and weight options. Designed to withstand harsh climates, varying temperatures and power drops, shock and vibration, and other extreme stresses without sacrificing performance.

Maritime/Marine

Marine platforms now run the gamut of sizes and applications. Traditional ships and submarines are starting to upgrade shipboard system to Ethernet to enhance the control and management of in-ship communications, electrical, water cooling, air-conditioning, damage control, fuel, cargo loading, propulsion, auxiliary equipment, radar, sonar, radio guidance, emergency, warning, and weapons systems.

Unmanned surface vehicles and unmanned underwater vehicles are being developed to support reconnaissance and threat protection for larger naval vessels while extending their capabilities for search and rescue and mapping capabilities in the ocean. These smaller platforms must also support a myriad of networked devices including radar, sonar, video and command and control.

Techaya’s complete line of military-grade Ethernet switches, routers and media converters range from rack-mount units to support the demands of larger vessels to ultra-compact models for space constrained platforms. All rugged products are especially hardened to improve ingress, impact, and shock/vibration protection, and EMI while having an IP67 or IP68 rating to endure the corrosive effects of salt water.

Air Defense

Air defense usually involves anti-aircraft weaponry and systems that range from short to long range platforms for any application including immediate-response tactics to strategic intervention. Within this air defense system, there are a host of communication platforms that must send and receive strategic defense information and mission data.

Since Air Defense has a huge installed base of communications equipment and devices, integrating with or aiding in the upgrading of these traditional platforms becomes paramount to the success in technology upgrades. Techaya has created unique and innovative platforms that aid in these upgrades and updates while maintaining strict security, standardized networking and form factors that are field deployable.
